+The **EPW.1 Hussar** (German: //Husar//) was the Wingardian light tank born of the Expeditionary Tank program, conceived to provide fire and heavy reconnaissance support to the Federal Army's expeditionary regiments of the late 1960s and early 1970s. A rugged, reliable, easy to maintain platform, the Hussar's service survived the wind-down of the controversial expeditionary interventions and found a niche in traditional airborne units until its retirement in 1987.
+As of 2025, the Hussar is the only vehicle to have used the //Expeditionspanzerwagen// (EPW) New Standard designation.
